ROBREDO, FERRER ADVANCE

While top three players make their debut today, Tommy Robredo and Andy Murray fight still for Shanghai. Ferrer moves to third round.

Favourite players go ahead in PNB Paribas Masters in Paris. The first one was David Ferrer, who defeated American Mardy Fish in just two sets after a 6-1, 7-6 quick victory. The player from Javea recently qualified for Tennis Masters Cup Shanghai in the sixth position and now is looking for a place in Paris’ quarterfinals against twelve seed Tomas Berdych, who overcame recovered Mario Ancic (6-3, 6-3).

Tommy Robredo stays as candidate to get one ticket for Shanghai advancing to thrid round after beating local idol Simon Gilles. The audience turned against the Spaniard and supported Bucharest Open winner, but Robredo controlled the situation defeating his rival with a 6-4, 2-6, 6-4 victory. Andy Murray maintains British people’s hope about his qualification for Shanghai. The Scottish moved on to the third round after beating left-hander from Finland Nieminem 7-6, 6-3.
