BUCHAREST: THE TOURNAMENT

The total amount of 32 players went to Romania, where the Bucharest Open took place. The event was provided with a €350.000 prize money and the winner was the Frenchman sixth-seeded Gilles Simon, who got 35 ATP points for the Champions Race.

Romanian clay got ready to welcome once again the players who were going to compete for the Bucharest Open. The tournament was hold last week, from 10th to 17th September, coinciding with Beijing’s Open, which crowned Fernando González.

The German Hanescu played the final against the French Simon with a 4-6, 6,3, 6-2 fast victory of the second one.

Gilles Simon made progress and went towards the ATP ranking, achieving a place as the world no.25.
