TERRACOTA TENNIS PLAYERS

The champions of the year will be represented as one of the most important symbols of China’s history. Federer, Nadal and Djokovic, who have alredy qualified for the Masters’ Cup, have been measured and photographed.

Right now, the major touristic attraction in China is part of the tennis world. Not thousands but just 8 players will be the chosen ones. The best players of the season will be qualified for the ATP event.

The French sculptor Laury Dizengremel will be the person in charge to become the best tennis players of the year into legend.

World no.1 and no.2 Federer’s and Nadal’s successful season has guaranteed their place in the tournament, while rising star Novak Djokovic sealed his place during his recent run to the US Open final. The remaining five places will be determined as the ATP Race continues, with the likes of Andy Roddick, Nikolay Davydenko and James Blake.

“It’s always one of the goals you set at the beggining of the year”, said Federer. “I think that being sculpted as a Terracotta Warrior is an honour, I think the idea is fun, bringing together culture and sport”.

Terracota Warriors will witness the Masters Tennis Cup taking place in Shanghai next November. “Anything that promotes tennis is very important”, said Rafa Nadal. “This tournament is special because you play against the best, so I’m very happy to have qualified for Shanghai”.
