Rafa Nadal’s dream’s gone.
World No.2 Rafa Nadal got worse and couldn’t beat countryman David Ferrer, who starred a really tough match (6-7 (3), 6-4, 7-6 (4), 6-2).
Many people thought of Rafa as a hope to defeat the unbeatable three-times US Open winner Roger Federer. Rafa himself felt stronger after all the worries about his left-knee tendonitis. But Ferrer worked hard and his tenacity during the whole match let him overcome the loss of the first set, winning the three following ones. The time of the match was 3 hours and 28 minutes of tough playing.
Next up for Ferrer will be Ignacio Chela, from Argentina while Carlos Moyá will meet Novak Djokovic, both in quarterfinals.
