Federer carries on his trip to the final

López put Federer in trouble, but the three-time defending champion managed the 2 hours-time match (3-6, 6-4, 6-1 y 6-4).

He looked finally in trouble. López effective service and movements around the court made it difficult for the Helvetic player to get through the match during the first 25 minutes. However, world No.1 Roger Federer had a quick reaction and managed to control the situation. Lopez became threatening again on the third set when he brought about triple break point on Federe’s serve, but it was only a break time for the Helvetic player, who broke Lopez serve three more times.

“I was serving well and playing aggressively, and things really turned around for me. It was an awesome match. I really enjoyed it because he did play very well", said Federer, who will next face No.5 Andy Roddick, who defeated Tomas Berdych earlier in the day.
