The Bryan brothers, Mike and Bob, win the doubles in the Mutua Madrileña Masters Madrid

A final where they defeated the current champions, the team consisting of Daniel Nestor and Mark Knowles

Madrid, 22nd October. The Bryan brothers, Mike and Bob, proved their condition of first seed players to include in their track record the victory of the doubles final at Mutua Madrileña Masters Madrid, placed between the 14th and the 22nd October in the premises of Recinto Ferial de la Casa de Campo, against Daniel Nestor and Mark Knowles by 7-5 and 6-4.

The Bryans, who have ended best team in the world in three out of the four last years, reached their seventh title of the season, which allows them to lead the ATP ranking in terms of doubles.

Wimbledon and the Australian Open are some of the titles won by the team this year. They have visited Madrid’s tournament after taking part in the US Open, where they lost in third round.

They have defeated a Nestor and Knowles who had somehow conquered the Spanish tournament by winning three out of the four previous finals.

Something which seemed would happen again, especially at the beginning of the match, when they took an advantage of (4-1). The Bryan brothers knew how to react on time in order to avenge the defeat suffered at last year’s Mutua Madrileña Masters Madrid 2004 final.

Madrid’s tournament is now awaiting its final climax with the singles final starting at 15:30 h, which will bring a Roger Federer (aiming at his tenth title of the year) and Fernando González face to face.
