Berdych achieves the last one

The Czech Thomas Berdych won the Masters Series Paris Championship yesterday, the last Masters Series of the season and the only one that have won neither R. Federer nor R. Nadal. The number 1 and the number 2 of the world had achieved something unusual,

Madrid, November 7th, 2005. The Czech Thomas Berdych managed to raise yesterday the cup of the ninth and last Masters Series of the season, the Masters Series of Paris. Berdych´s opponent, the Croatian I. Ljubicic managed to arrive for a second consecutive time to the final of a Masters Series, he also played the final of Madrid. The match was long and at the same level as in the Madrid Arena. This time was Ljubicic who managed to raise a 2-0 against and to force the fifth set. Ljubicic, the player of the circuit who keep more fit during last October, was not able with the talent of Berdych and lost for 6-3, 6-4, 3-6, 4-6 and 6-4.

This has been the Czech’s first title of 2005 and his second final. The first one was in the tournament of Bastad against Rafa Nadal. Berdych finishes the season showing that with only 20 years, he is a young promise of the world tennis.
