Madrid, November 2nd, 2005. David Ferrer, Tommy Robredo and Juan Carlos Ferrero make their debut today in the second round of the last Masters Series of the season, the Masters Series Paris. Ferrer will face M. Mirnyi, Robredo will meet the French A. Clement and Ferrero will be playing against the Swiss S. Wawrinka. Spaniard Fernando Verdasco is the only Spanish player that has advanced in the French tournament. He has arrived at the second round after achieving a tight victory before the Ecuatorian N. Lapenti by 6-7(5), 7-5, 7-5. His next rival will be the American one R. Ginepri. Feliciano López did not have so much luck in the match that played yesterday against R. Stepanek. Spaniard said goodbye to the last Masters Series of the season with a defeat for 7-5 and 6-2 before the Czech. These are all the Spaniards of the French draw. Rafael Nadal, after winning the final of the Masters Series Madrid, has decided to rest and to be prepared for the Masters Cup of Shangai. Roger Federer does neither participate in Paris due to a wound in his foot. It is the first Masters Series of the season where the two tennis players who have won up to now all the Masters Series of the year are not participating. |
