Madrid, October 27th, 2005. After his great triumph the past Sunday in the Masters Series Madrid, Rafael Nadal has decided not to play the last Masters Series of the season in Paris. The tendonitis in his left knee, that was about to impede him to play in Madrid, has been the reason of his withdrawal. The Spanish player, who has neither played this week in Basilea, will take a break to be ready for the Masters Cup of Shangai. Nadal is not the only one absent in Paris. The Swiss Roger Federer will neither participate there, because of the wound in his ankle that impeded him to play in Madrid, neither the Russian Marat Safin, neither Carlos Moyá, nor André Agassi will be playing. The Masters Series of Paris-Bercy marks the end of the season. It is the last tournament to add points and to achieve a position for Shangai. Nadal is, for the moment, the only Spaniard classified. |
