FEDERER WINS US OPEN

The player gets his fifth U.S. Open and first Grand Slam of the season


Madrid, September 10th, 2008. Roger Federer got, after an almost perfect match, imposed at the final of the U.S. Open against the young Scots and the new world number four Andy Murray. The match, played in three sets and with a final score of 6-2, 7-5 and 6-2 for the Swiss served conquering his fifth consecutive title at Flushing Meadows.

Now after this victory, needed by the Swiss tennis player, Federer is just a victory in a Grand Slam match for the fourteen of the American Pete Sampras. "I've had some Grand Slam tournaments very hard this year, so I take it home means a lot to me. One thing that is certain, I will not stop at the thirteen titles.
