NOVAK SUFFERS MORE THAN EXPECTED

The Serbian player was able to crush Tommy Robredo in the fifth set

Madrid, September 3rd, 2008. The player from Belgrade, Novak Djokovic, needed more time and more good tennis than expected to get rid of head serial number 15th, the Spanish Tommy Robredo, who despite losing a single table, once completed its game against Serbian jumped back to the track to play the quarterfinals of doubles and get along with his partner, Argentine Sergio Roitman, to the semi-finals of a Grand Slam.

The game against Djokovic ended with the final score (4-6, 6-2, 6-3, 5-7, 6-3). The Spanish became the first sleeve before a Djokovic unknown, but the number three in the world woke up and pulled out that game with which to destroy his rivals. But Robredo yesterday also deployed a great game and was able to endure, forcing the fifth and final set and, despite losing, can boast of having passed the third round, which was his record in the U.S. Open.
