FELICIANO AND ROBREDO ACHIVE 2ND ROUND
The two Spanish tennis players win their first matches in the Masters Series of Toronto
Madrid, July 22nd, 2008. Tommi Robredo needed just over an hour and a half game of tennis to defeat the Canadian Frederic Niemeyer, in two sets with a final score of (7-6 (4) and 6-1). The first set had to reach the tie-break, which exceeded the Spaniard player, and in the second won decisively.
For his part, Feliciano Lopez had to overcome a match that started downhill with the first sleeve against Radek Stepanek lost, but in the end the Spanish player was able to draw his caste and winning back the last two sets in a match that lasted just over two hours and ended with a score of (4-6, 6-3 and 6-4).
In other matches of the day have highlighted the victories of Fernando Gonzalez on Julien Benneteau (6-2 and 6-1), Nikolas Kiefer on Mardy Fish (7-5 and 7-6 (4)), Stanislas Wawrinka versus Somone Bolelli (6-4 and 7-6 (4)) and Gasquet, who has surpassed his compatriot Llodra (6-2, 4-6 and 6-3).
