HERNANDEZ AND MONTAÑES GO ON

The two young Spaniards yesterday played their first matches of the tournament in Stuttgart and they were resolved with two victories.

Madrid, 8th of July, 2008. Good start for the Spaniards in the tournament in Stuttgart, especially for Oscar Hernandez and Albert Montañés who won their first round matches. The first won at number seven series head, the Argentine, Jose Acasuso in two sets (6-3 and 7-6 (5), meanwhile Oscar won his match also the Spanish Santiago Ventura in two sets (6-1 and 6-4).

Both players will face in the next round, so that one of them will have secured the third round of the German Championship. By contrast, in Gstaad, Switzerland, the Spanish Guillermo Garcia Lopez defeated by the Swiss Michael Lammer 5-7, 6-3 and 6-2 in the first round of the Swiss tournament on clay, and it is our only representative.
